My family and I have had the good fortune to visit Barcelona several times in recent years, a string that had its start because two of my siblings married people from the Iberian Peninsula — one from Catalunya and one from the Basque Country. This visit, spurred by our daughter Meghan’s choice to spend a semester studying there, gave us the excuse we needed to gather again in a place we all love. And, because of our familiarity with the city, we felt no compulsion this visit to do much, if any, sightseeing. Instead, we spent the time strolling avenues both well-known and hidden, and enjoying the great food, wine, and hospitality that always accompany a trip to the heart of Catalunya.

Hi Tom! We were hoping to get some of your advice on wine events around SF and invite you to a Latin American-themed one coming up this Saturday at 12:30PM at a wine bar called Antologia Vinoteca!
We’re working on Simmr (http://www.simmr.co) which helps restaurants/bars put on events that showcase something beyond a typical visit like a kitchen tour, a hands-on food making session, or a special tasting. People come to these experiences to discover new places in an interesting way and build deeper relationships with places they already love.
I’d love to chat with you about how you think about what wine events are interesting and how you discover them! It’d be great to chat after the event if you’re able to come or at another time that works for you! ๐

I’m in the same boat with Barcelona now, as I’ve been lucky enough to visit several times so when I go there now I can just relax and enjoy doing what I want to do. Ahh it’s my favourite place on the planet without a doubt ๐
