The Arrogant Frog — Worth A Kiss

A few years ago I introduced readers of The Grape Belt to the wines of Domaine Paul Mas from the Languedoc region in southern France, extolling their impressive combination of quality and low prices. (https://thegrapebelt.com/2016/07/20/head-to-the-south-of-france/) Well, we’re back again with a look at a few more of their wines, this time under the whimsical label, The […]

After a year of imagining it, I’ve finally gotten my schedule to give me an hour of reading a day, minimum, alternating fiction with wine. Today is a wine day. I’ve started all four of them but abandoned them at various points, mostly for no good reasons that I can recall. So, which book gets picked back up again first? #jamiegoode #winklorch #patrickcomiskey #rajatparr #jordanmackay #winewritersmustbewinereaders
When you turn 28, you need to be ready for anything! Happy Birthday, Katie! You will always be my favorite first daughter! Open something great tonight!
I wanted to say that these wines tonight were “spott” on but I’m afraid people would throw things at me. That being said, the white was intriguingly complex, while the red was cool, almost aloof. But too cool for school is a sign of immaturity. So I’m gonna let the ‘11s mature a bit. Anyway, these are delicious and delightful wines. Helped to make a good night great. #spottswoode #cabernetsauvignon #sauvignonblanc #napawine #novakfamily #greatwineisablessing
Well, it was warm and sunny today, right? This juicy pink is just the thing to start the evening with. Refreshing acid and a perky fruitiness makes for a fun warmer-upper. And a happy cook. Cheers! 13.2% abv. $25 from winery list. #kutch #thinkpink #drinkpink #pinotnoir #sonomawine #sonomacoast #summerneverends #fordhamconnection #gorams
When the kids are away the mice will play. Or something like that. Anyway, we’re gonna drink decent wine no matter what. The Stony Hill was all subtlety and nuance. Harmonious and pleasing. Can’t ask much more from the lead-off hitter. The Corison showed a bit green to start, despite a spirited double decant. But soon thereafter all was right in the world and this wine’s trademark combination of subtle elegance and power carried the meal. 2011 a difficult vintage? Perhaps only for some winemakers. Clearly not for Cathy Corison. #corison #kronos #napa #napacabernet #cathycorison #stonyhill #chardonnay #napachard #legends #napasbest #mccraefamily #pioneers
Just got my wines! Even though it’s a week away I’m already looking forward to one of my favorite events – a Twitter tasting with several other wine writers and the folks from Villa Maria wines in New Zealand. Always a great time learning about some terrific wines that are available around the world at great prices! With the holidays approaching you can’t go wrong by having a few Villa Maria Wines stashed away for family time, meals large and small, or simply hanging around with friends and relatives. Cheers! @VillaMaria_Wine @Kat_Halbtrocken @RopesatVilla @JFouts @WineOhTV #villamariawines #newzealandwines #firstsipnz #openanotherworld
